On the first Saturday in June, businesses across North Carolina show their support for conservation by donating a percentage of their sales to local land trusts.
Please join us on Saturday, June 3, and show your support of land and water conservation in northwest North Carolina by shopping at The Original Mast General Store and/or the Mast Store Annex, both located in Valle Crucis.
Land Trust Day is a partnership between North Carolina business and our state’s two dozen land trusts. On the first Saturday in June, participating businesses display information about local land trusts and agree to donate a percentage of their sales to assist land trusts in protecting open space, scenic views, farmland, water quality, hiking trails and other recreational resources. Land Trust Day was established in 1992.
Land Trust Day is held in conjunction with National Trails Day, which amplifies the important role that protected natural environments and the outdoors play in the health and economy of communities across the United States. Land Trust Day connects consumers, businesses and Blue Ridge Conservancy, and highlights the relationship that towns across WNC have with the forests, rivers and ridge-lines around them.
